I’ve never really given Judas Priest a real chance. So I snagged Painkiller at the record store today and I’m giving it a spin. I wish I’d done this a couple of decades ago. 🤣

ALBUMS OF THE WEEK! Metallica’s Black Album easily gets the top spot by virtue of the deluxe reissue treatment it got yesterday. The remastered main album sounds wonderful, but the crown jewel for me was the Tushino Airfield (Moscow) live set. I’m awash in nostalgia over this, and feel like I’m back in 1991. Next, I’m back on my Vader studies and had a blast playing Necropolis. Also worth mentioning here is Inferi’s new release, Vile Genesis, another great entry in the Inferi catalog.

I just got my hands on the new tape reissue of Minenwerfer’s Alpenpässe. This is WWI inspired black metal with especially delicious guitar solos. @osmoseproductions is reissuing much of the #Minenwerfer back catalog, so you’re in luck if you’ve been frustrated by the out-of-print status on their stuff. ⛰⚔️
Ænigmatum – Deconsecrate (2021). Not only does the music on this album impress, the vinyl release is beautiful! Each side looks completely unique. @20buckspinlabel is killing it with the vinyl releases, and is one of the most consistent and reliable purveyors of cool vinyl in the industry. @aenigmatum_pdx hit a home run on this progressive, blackened death metal wonder, and I highly suggest you give it a spin.
